All City Food Drive....Preparing for the Holidays

I would like to extend a huge thank you to the generous people of Marysville for their involvement in the November 5 All City Food Drive: to the volunteers, the grocery store managers and employees, and the hundreds of people who donated food and money. The donations will really help toward serving our neighbors in need in Marysville for the holidays.

We collected 5,004 lbs of food and $2,032 in cash donations. Over 75 volunteers assisted: Kiwanis, City of Marysville Employees, Lions Club, Soroptimist, MPHS ROTC, High School Volunteer Club, Cascade Elementary, Girl and Boy Scouts, HomeStreet Bank Employees, local church youth groups, and many individuals.

The need this year is larger than ever. We are seeing a record number of people coming to the Food Bank. Continued support of the Food Bank is needed to get the community through these tough times. Supporting school food drives, dropping off foods at any of the dozens of red barrels around town, or bringing/sending donations directly to the Food Bank would be immensely appreciated. We have just one week until we provide folks with holiday baskets. We are particularly short on the supply of turkeys, chickens, hams, etc. Together we can and will meet the need. Let’s rally to make it happen!
